Oh What A Feeling! Carving Trails At The TAWA Truck Rodeo

Who doesn’t love a trek through the forest?  Last week I had the opportunity to add multiple trucks and SUVs to that scenario and oh what a feeling!

Our venue was the Star Hill Ranch just outside of Austin, TX.  You might be familiar with it if you watch Food Network.  “BBQ Brawl:  Flay vs. Symon” was filmed at the ranch and the episodes aired this fall.

Owner Adam Woolley, formed the property with historic homes built from the years 1850 to 1935 that were moved from all over Texas.  Star Hill is an event venue popular for parties, weddings, corporate events, etc.  Click here to learn more about Star Hill Ranch.

Traveling over the 4 X 4 terrain in very capable trucks and SUVS was a highlight of my week.  Manufacturers like Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Toyota, Acura, Nissan, Volkswagen, Honda, Volvo, Kia, Ford, GMC, and Hyundai delivered their stars to the ranch.  Most were for driving, some for display only.  A large RAM truck and Jeep (both part of the FCA brand) presence was felt with multiple models and trim packages available for testing.  On-road driving was available as well to see if those off-road machines would also work for a trip around town.

I’ll be showcasing the SUVs and trucks I drove, like the Willys Jeep above.

Stay tuned to JulesOnWheelz for great coverage from the 2019 Texas Auto Writers Association Truck Rodeo!
